Bike Wise is New Zealand’s national programme of activities, which promote cycling as a fun, healthy and safe way to travel. Over the past few years, through a dedicated network of regional and local coordinators, they’ve been getting more people on their bikes and improving bike safety. Why not join us and get back in the saddle?
CYCLE ACTION WHAKATANE (CAW) will be out and about during Bike Wise Month, participating in organised events and encouraging more folk to ride their bikes more often! All CAW bike rides will begin with a briefing on safety, a helmet and bike check, and raising awareness of the potential hazards of the route. All children under 10 MUST be accompanied by a caregiver/parent. Bring a drink or two, especially if it is hot! Cancelled if wet.
If you do not have a bike, and are wondering whether to give it a go, get in touch - we might have a spare!
